Kentucky Odyssey of the Mind

Judges & Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in judging and volunteering! Through their generosity of time and talent, our judges & volunteers contribute their skills, knowledge, and interests to provide an amazing experience for kids. Just like an Odyssey of the Mind team, we want our judges & volunteers to capitalize on their strengths when donating their time and energy. Thus, we have a variety of roles to ensure your experience is fun and rewarding! Please click here to learn more about the different tournament roles. There is something for everyone!

Just like it takes a village to raise a child, it takes about that many to run an efficient Odyssey of the Mind tournament!  To ensure teams are scored fairly, we require each team to provide one judge per membership and one per team for tournament day.  A judge will need to be available for this role all day to ensure consistency in scoring. Simply stated, the teams, and very likely your children, have worked too hard not to be judged fairly. If you are a past or present supporter of the Odyssey of the Mind program, please consider helping judge at this year’s event.

Judging provides opportunities to make lifelong friends.  Judges Jimmy Cornn and Michael Taylor pose with New Jersey judge, Kristin Hingstman.
